A free account is intended to be genuinely useful on its own: saved brokers, a watchlist tied to the forecast pages, and the newsletters you choose at the newsletter page. Upgrading from there adds the premium signal levels, the broker dossiers and the weekly desk note described on the Premium page.
Country of residence is asked for one reason: broker availability differs by jurisdiction, and a ranking that lists brokers you cannot legally open an account with is worse than no ranking. It is not used to price anything differently.
