EUR/GBP is the tightest-ranging of the popular crosses, which makes it a favourite for mean-reversion and range strategies. A forty-pip day is normal; a hundred-pip day usually means a central-bank surprise.
The cross expresses the relative stance of the European Central Bank against the Bank of England, so it reacts to both calendars. Because the dollar cancels out of the equation, it is a clean way to trade European policy divergence.
EUR/GBP sits in the minors group on our board. A standard contract is 100,000 units of EUR, which puts the value of a single pip at roughly $12.75. With a typical daily range of 44 pips, a full-lot position moves through a meaningful amount of account equity in an ordinary session, so size the trade against the range rather than against the margin requirement.

We will not invent a price target or a confidence score. What actually moves EUR/GBP is the gap between consensus and the released data for its driver currencies, so the honest “forecast” is the schedule of catalysts below plus our published analysis — read those and form your own view.

No. The EUR/GBP quote shown here is indicative demo data — a fixed, fictional snapshot dated 07/08/2026, 16:45 GMT. It does not update and is not sourced from any exchange or broker. Use your broker's own live feed before pricing or placing any trade.
Our demo board shows 1.7 pips, against a long-run average of 1.8 pips. Real spreads vary by broker, account type and time of day: they are tightest during the London and New York sessions and widen sharply around major data releases and in the thin hours after the New York close.
On a standard contract of 100,000 units of EUR, one pip is worth approximately $12.75. Scale that down proportionally for mini and micro lots — a 0.01 lot position moves at one hundredth of the figure quoted.
Sun 22:00 – Fri 22:00 GMT (continuous). Liquidity is not evenly distributed across those hours: expect the tightest spreads and the largest ranges when the primary session for this instrument overlaps with London or New York.
Our indicative figures are -2.9 on a long position and -0.6 on a short, per standard lot per night, with a triple charge applied on Wednesdays to cover the weekend. Positive numbers are credited and negative numbers are debited. Swap rates differ materially between brokers and change with policy rates.
